Habib Kombo is working with 1001 Organic since the beginning in 2012 lives in the Matuuni, Pemba with his 7 kinds. Next to growing spices he is also owning a cow farm.

The pepper plant is a vine growing on forest trees or supporting trees. Its broad shiny green leaves are alternately arranged. The small flowers are in dense slender spikes of about 50 blossoms each.

The fresh green peppercorns are harvested by hand and blanched in hot water for 10 minutes until it becomes dark green and then sun dried. Red, white or black pepper origins from the same plant. Our farmers are mainly on the island of Zanzibar and Tanga.

1001 Organic invests in the necessary infrastructure as well as in the farming communities and supports them in professionalizing and converting to certified organic agriculture.
